Motorcycle leak down test

Question: What do you need to do a leak down test?

Answer: You need to use a leak down tester.

Question: What's next?

Answer: You have to make sure the piston is in the correct position. The piston has to be on the compression stroke. So in order to know, you have to align the "T" mark with the triangle as shown above.

Question: Where did you plug the hose?
Answer: I put it in where the spark hole is.

Question: How did you put air pressure into to it?
Answer: The red hose you see in the picture comes from compressed air.

Question: When you put compressed air into it what did you get?
Answer: Well my leak down test result that I do have a problem because it's leaking from one of the intake valve. The percent of the leak is 80%. How did I know where it was leaking from? Well it's easy just put your ear to work and hear where air is escaping from. The air leaking came out from where the carburator is supposed to go so it's one of the valves or both that will have to be replaced soon.

Question: Since this is my first time dealing with an engine can I see a diagram or picture?
Answer: Of course, here is a picture I drew and listed 4 places where you might have a leak. You can have a leak from the piston's rings, the head gasket, the intake/exhaust valves, or from the spark plug hole.
